Devices with Bluetooth capabilities can exchangeinformation over a distance of about 10 meters (30 feet)without requiring a physical connection.Unlike infrared beaming, you don't need to line up the de-vices to beam information with Bluetooth. The devices onlyneed to be within a range of about 10 meters. You can evenbeam information to a device in a different room, as long asit's within range.The software included with your phone allows you to useBluetooth to beam information such as files, contact cards,appointments, and tasks to other Bluetooth-enabled de-vices.Bluetooth modesSelect Settings > Bluetooth > Bluetooth. Then select On,Off, or Discoverable. The behavior of each of these modesis summarized below.On — The Bluetooth radio is turned on and you can useBluetooth features.Off — The Bluetooth radio is turned off. You might want toturn the radio off at times to conserve battery power, or insituations where radio use is prohibited, like on airplanesand in hospitals. Bluetooth is also turned off when you turnFlight Mode on.By default the Bluetooth radio is turned off. If you turn it on,and then turn off your device, the Bluetooth radio also turnsoff. When you turn on your device again, the Bluetooth radioturns on automatically.
