An outside air inlet must be provided for combustion andmust remain clear of leaves, debris, ice and/or snow. Itmust be unrestricted while unit is in use to prevent roomair starvation which can cause smoke spillage and aninability to maintain a fire. Smoke spillage can also setoff smoke alarms.2. Unit must be secured to the mobile home structure attwo attachment points. Remove bolts from each sideof insert and use plumbers tape to secure to structure(a washer may be required). Re-install bolts.3. Unit must be grounded with #8 solid copper groundingwire or equivalent and terminated at each end with N.E.C.approved grounding device.4. The factory-built fireplace must meet (UM)84-HUDrequirements for outside combustion air supply tothe fireplace fire chamber and the chimney must belisted to UL103 HT or a listed UL-1777 full length sixinch (152mm) diameter liner must be used. It must beequipped with a spark arrestor cap and the outside airmust be installed on the insert.5. Refer to pages 7-8 of this manual for clearance tocombustibles and floor protections requirements. Allclearances must be followed precisely.6. Use silicone to create an effective vapor barrier atthe location were the chimney or other componentpenetrates to the exterior of the structure.7.
