If you are not using anexisting chimney, place the appliance where there will be aclear passage for a factory-built listed chimney through theceiling and roof.We recommend that a qualified building inspector and yourinsurance company representative review your plans beforeand after installationIf this appliance is in an area where children may be near itis recommended that you purchase a decorative barrier to goin front of the appliance. Remember to always keep childrenaway while it is operating and do not let anyone operatethis appliance unless they are familiar with these operatinginstructions.B. Fire SafetyTo provide reasonable fire safety, the following should begiven serious consideration:1. Install at least one smoke detector on each floor ofyour home to ensure your safety. They should belocated away from the heating appliance and closeto the sleeping areas. Follow the smoke detectormanufacturer’s placement and installation instructions,and be sure to maintain regularly.2.
