46Playback procedure4ReadingPress OPEN/CLOSE orPLAY.The disc tray closes auto-matically.On the TV-screen,changes to “Reading” andthen playback commences.• A menu screen will ap-pear on the TV screen, ifthe disc has a menu fea-ture. In this case, press, , , or ENTERto operate a menu fea-ture.1 Press DVD to select DVDmode. Press OPEN/CLOSE on the TV/VCR/DVD or the remotecontrol.The disc tray will open.2 Place a disc onto the tray.Position it with the printedlabel side up, align it withthe guides, and place it inits proper position.3Press STOP to end playback.• The TV/VCR/DVD memorizes the stopped point, depend-ing on the disc. “ ” appears on the screen. Press PLAYto resume playback (from the scene point).• If you press STOP again or unload the disc (“ ” ap-pears on the screen.), the TV/VCR/DVD will clear thestopped point.5 Press OPEN/CLOSE.The disc tray opens.Remove the disc and press POWER.The disc tray closes automatically and TV/VCR/DVD turnsoff.NOTES:• If a non-compatible disc is loaded, “Incor-rect Disc”, “Region Code Error” or “Paren-tal Error” will appear on the TV screen ac-cording to the type of loaded disc. If theseappear, check your disc again (see pages44 and 60).• Some discs may take a minute or so tostart playback.• A “Prohibition” symbol may appear atthe upper left of the screen. This symbolmeans either the feature you tried is notavailable on the disc, or the TV/VCR/DVDcannot access the feature at this time. Thisdoes not indicate a problem with the TV/VCR/DVD.• When you set a single-faced disc labeldownwards (i.e. the wrong way up) andpress PLAY or OPEN/CLOSE on the TV/VCR/DVD, “Reading” will appear on thedisplay for about 30 seconds and then “NoDisc” or “Incorrect Disc” will be displayed.• Some playback operations of DVDs maybe intentionally fixed by software produc-ers. Since this TV/VCR/DVD plays DVDsaccording to the disc content recorded,some playback features may not be avail-able. Also refer to the instructions suppliedwith the DVDs.
