7Setup and ConnectionsSample ConnectionsThe following are sample connection scenarios which you may encounterwhen connecting components to your TV.CablesYou will use the following cable to make your connection:Coaxial Cables: Carries the signal from theantenna or cable directly to the television orthrough a cable box, as needed by your cablesystem.Audio/Video Cables: Carries sound and videofrom the component to the TV.S-Video Cable: Carries video from an S-Videocapable component which provides bestpicture quality.TV and Stereo VCRVCRTVVIDEOOUTIN FROM ANTOUT TOCH3CH4INPUT 1VIDEORS-VIDEORINPUT 2VIDEOCABLE/ANTENNAINPUTS-VIDEOR—AUDIO—LG-LINKAUDIO OUTPUTAUDIOLLAUDIOR AUDIO LINCABLE, CABLE BOX, OR ANTENNAOnce you have completed this connection go to “Step 3:Connect the G-LINK Cable” on page 9.Cautions:Position cables to Avoid Audio Humor Interference• Insert all cables firmly into jacks.• Place the audio/video cables to thesides of the TV’s back panel instead ofstraight down the middle.• Try not to coil any twin-lead cables andkeep them away from the audio/videocables.Protect your components fromOverheating• Do not block ventilation holes in any ofthe components. Arrange thecomponents so that air can circulatefreely.• Do not stack components.• Allow adequate ventilation whenplacing your components in a stand.• Place an amplifier on the top shelf ofthe stand so heated air rising from itwill not flow around othercomponents.How to View Your VCRTo watch the VCR in this connection, press TV to put theremote control into TV mode, then press WHO•INPUT toscroll through the video input channels until you tune toVID1 input.In the Interactive Setup section you can program the TV toautomatically tune to the VID1 input channel when youpress VCR1 on the remote.Most Audio/Video cables are combinedinto one cable with three heads oneach end.We show individual cablesin these sampleconnections.
