Using the Remote23CLEAR Removes any menu or display from the screen and returns youto normal viewing.(0-9) Number Buttons Enters channel numbers and time settingsdirectly though the remote control. To enter a two-digit channel, pressthe two digits. To enter a three-digit channel, press and hold the “1”button until “1” and two dashes (– –) appear, then add the second two.Example: to tune to channel 123, press and hold 1 until“1– –” appears, release the 1 button and then press 2, and 3.WHO•INPUT In TV mode, press to toggle through the available inputsources (VID1, VID2, VID3, FRONT, last channel, VGA1, VGA2, componentinput). In SAT mode, press to select available channel lists (RCA, GE, andPROSCAN products only).ANTENNA Functions as TV/VCR button in VCR mode and TV/receiverbutton in satellite mode.REVERSE, PLAY, FORWARD, REC•VCR+, STOP, PAUSE Ifprogrammed, provides transport control for some remote-controllableVCRs, DVD players, laserdisc players, tape decks, and CD players. PressingREC•VCR+ when using the GUIDE Plus+ System sets the VCR to record aprogram.PIP Brings up the small picture-in-picture window. Press again toremove the PIP window. Also used to reset the settings in a menu, such as the ParentalControls menu.Using the WHO•INPUT buttonUse the WHO•INPUT button to scroll through the available inputchannels and view components you have connected to the monitor.1. Press TV to place the remote in TV mode. Make sure that thecomponent you want to view is turned ON.2. Press WHO•INPUT to tune to an available input channel.3. Continue to press the WHO•INPUT button to scroll through theinput channels.Programming the RemoteThe universal remote can be programmed to control most brands ofremote controllable VCRs, satellite receivers and cable boxes. The remoteis already programmed to control most RCA, GE, and PROSCAN TVs,VCRs, DVD players, laserdisc players and satellite receivers.Modes of OperationBecause this universal remote can controlseveral different components (DVDplayer, VCR, Cable Box, etc.) it usesoperational modes triggered by thecomponent buttons. For example if youwant the remote to control the TV, youwould press the TV button to put theremote into TV mode before you couldcontrol the TV.
