Menus and Features45Getting In & Out of the GUIDE PIus+ Gold SystemTo enter the GUIDE Plus+ Gold System:• Press GUIDE on the remote.There are three ways to exit the GUIDE Plus+ Gold System:• Press OK to exit the GUIDE Plus+ Gold System and tune to thechannel highlighted in the Channel listing.• Press GUIDE to exit the GUIDE Plus+ Gold System and tune to thechannel displayed in the View window.• Press CLEAR to exit the GUIDE Plus+ Gold System and return to theoriginal channel.Downloading DataThe GUIDE Plus+ Gold System is not available until it completes its firstdownload of program information. When the power is turned off, themonitor locates a “host channel” that carries GUIDE Plus+ Gold datacontaining program schedule and channel mapping information. Achannel map is the list of stations and their respective channels.To ensure that your first download of data is complete, you shouldleave your monitor off overnight. Downloads occur several times a day.The monitor must be turned off for GUIDE Plus+ Gold data todownload.If the monitor loses power or is unplugged, GUIDE Plus+ Gold programinformation may be lost. When power is restored, make sure the setupinformation is still correct. The GUIDE Plus+ Gold program will completea download at the next available time.Channel MappingIf more than one cable company services your area, you may beprompted with a Channel Mapping screen after the first GUIDE Plus+Gold download. You will need to identify your cable company byselecting the correct channel numbers for the stations in question.• Use the left and right arrows to change the channel group andpress OK when the correct channel group is highlighted.The Different GUIDE PIus+ Gold System MenusThe GUIDE Plus+ Gold System offers seven different options on theMenu bar: GRID, SORT, NEWS, SCHEDULE, MESSAGES, EDITOR andSETUP. To access the Menu bar:1. Press GUIDE to bring up the GUIDE Plus+ Gold screen.2. Press MENU or use the up and down arrows to highlight the Menubar. The Grid Guide comes up by default.3. Use the left and right arrows to access other menus.4.
