50Menus and FeaturesAd/Show InformationTroubleshootingTroubles sometimes are caused by simple“faults” that you can correct without aservice technician. Here are a few basicremedies:Program information does not download• Review your setup information andmake sure it is correct.• The monitor must be off to downloadinformation. Leave your monitor offovernight, for at least 10 hours, toreceive a download for your area.• If you are using a cable box, make surethe cable box is on in order to receiveprogram information.• If you are using a VCR, make sure theVCR is off in order to receive programinformation.Scheduled Watch or Record does not occur• Check Schedule for timer conflicts.• Check that G-LINK cable wand ispositioned correctly.• Make sure there is a tape in the VCR andthat the G-LINK wand is properlypositioned and the VCR is off.EditorMenuSelectionEditor MenuAction ButtonsEditor Menu Action ButtonsWhile browsing the Editor menu, the following Action buttons areavailable on the bar:• Cancel Press 1 on the remote to cancel any changes made sinceentering the Editor Menu.• Change Press 2 on the remote to change the channel number forthe highlighted channel line.• On/Off Press 3 on the remote to toggle the state of the channelbetween On and Off.SetupThe Setup Menu lets you access GUIDE Plus+ System setup information.To access the Setup option:1. Press MENU on the remote to highlight the Menu bar.2. Use the arrows to highlight the Setup menu option.3. Use the up and down arrows to select Setup, View Demo, orOptions:• Setup Displays the GUIDE Plus Gold System setup screens.Setting up the GUIDE Plus+ Gold System is detailed in theSetting Up section of this book.• View Demo Runs the GUIDE Plus+ Gold Systemdemonstration.• Options Displays the GUIDE Plus+ Gold autodisplay options.On Automatically displays the GUIDE Plus+ Gold Systemwhen you use the TV button on the remote to turn on theTV.Off Disables the GUIDE Plus+ Gold System from beingdisplayed when you use the TV button on the remote toturn on the TV.Expanded InformationTo view more information about a program, advertisement or special,highlight the channel listing or ad/show information box and press theINFO button. Requesting more information about a particular show willalso display the PlusCode programming number and the Shows on Nextfor that channel.Pressing INFO while highlighting an ad panel will fill the screen with anyadditional and/or promotional information regarding that particularprogram.Pressing the INFO button again exits the expanded information screen.
