43Menu SystemSpeakersIf you connected speakers to your DVD Player (such as front, surround, and/or subwoofer),select this menu to set the speaker’s size.1. From the Sound menu, highlight Speakers andpress OK (the speaker size screen appears withpictures of different types of speakers shown onthe right side of the screen).2. Highlight Front, Subwoofer, or Surround (thechoice you highlight will also be highlighted in thegraphic on the right side of the screen).3. Press the right arrow button to move to theSpeaker Size list (underneath the graphic on theright side of the screen). Select the size of yourspeakers and press OK.4. Press the left arrow button to return to the speakerlist and select the next type of speaker, repeatingthe process explained above.Note: The options for subwoofer are None and Yes. If youconnected the DVD Player to a subwoofer, select Yes. If youhaven’t connected a subwoofer, select None.DistanceIf you connected speakers to your DVD Player, setting the Distance menu lets the speakersknow how far the sound has to travel to reach your set listening point. This allows the soundfrom each speaker to reach the listener at the same time.1. From the Sound menu, highlight Distance andpress OK (the distance screen appears with picturesof different types of speakers shown on the rightside of the screen).2. Highlight Front or Surround (the choice youhighlight will also be highlighted in the graphic onthe right side of the screen).The + symbol in the middle of the graphic representsthe distance from the speaker to the listener.Note: If you haven’t set up the speaker it appears gray.3. Press the right arrow button to move to the Feet box displayed underneath the graphic.Use the up/down arrow buttons to adjust the distance for the highlighted speakers andpress OK.4. Press the left arrow button to return to the speaker list and select the next type of speaker,repeating the process explained above.FrontSurround
