Select “TIMERREC SET”, then press ENTER.Press or to select the date, thenpress ENTER.NOTE:To set up a daily or weekly timer, go topage 39.12 Press or to select one of theprogram line, then press ENTER.4Press TV/VCR to select the TV/VCR mode.Load a cassette tape with the erase prevention tab intact.Press DISPLAY/CALL to verify that the time and date arecorrect (see page 36).Preparation:•••Timer recording can be programmedon-screen with the remote control.The built-in timer allows automaticunattended recording of up to 8programs within 1 month.Set the start time, end time, channeland tape speed as in step 3.Example: Program a timer recording for the 23rd day, channel 125(CATV), 7:00 - 9:30 PM on timer program number 1 (Tape speed: SLP).NOTES:Press CANCEL to move cursor backwardfor correction.To record from external source set thechannel to "L1" or "L2". "L1" or "L2" willappear next to CH 125 (or 69).••5 To enter other programs, repeat step2 through 4.• To return to the normal screen,press TV MENU twice.6 Press TIMER REC. The T.REC indicator will light and theVCR stands by for recording.The timer recording will start at 5 seconds before the time youpredetermined.NOTES:If the T.REC indicator does not light in spite of the pressing ofTIMER REC, the cassette may not have been loaded yet. (seepage 31)If the cassette is ejected in spite of the pressing of TIMER REC,the erase prevention tab of the cassette may have beenremoved. (see page 31)••NOTES:If the T.REC indicator blinks when thetimer recording ended, the TV programhas not been completely recordedbecause of an insufficient tape supply.Press TIMER REC to cancel the timerprogram or press EJECT to removethe cassette tape.During timer recording standby mode,the VCR operation cannot be used. Touse the VCR operation, press TIMERREC to deactivate the timer. After youuse the VCR, press TIMER REC againto put the VCR into timer recordingstandby mode.If you press TIMER REC during timerrecording, the recording operation willbe interrupted. If you press TIMERREC again within the programmed time,the recording operation will start again.After a power failure or disconnectionof the power plug, all programmedrecording settings and time displaywill be lost upon resumption of power.In this case, reset the clock (see pages16-18) and reprogram any timerrecordings.••••
