Remove the battery compartment cover by pushing in the cover's two tabsthen pulling the cover in the direction of the arrows.2. Install six D batteries in the lower level of the compartment, asindicated by the polarity symbols (+ and -) marked inside the batterycompartment.3. Replace the cover.4. Set AC/DC to DC.CAUTION: Remove the batteries if you do not plan to power the radio frombatteries for a week or more.
