If the TAD-1006 still does not operate as you think it should,take it to your local Radio Shack store for assistance.Problem Cause RemedyThe TAD records a dialtone, siren, beeping, oran operator’s voiceinstead of the caller’smessage.The caller hung up withoutleaving a message or withoutusing the maximum time, andyour local telephone com-pany does not send out CPCsignals.Press NEXT (or 9remotely) to play thenext message.The TAD does notanswer calls.The phone line is not properlyconnected.Check all phone lineconnections.The TAD is not plugged intopower.Make sure the ACadapter is properlyconnected to theTAD and to power.The TAD is not set to answercalls.Press ON/OFF so theANSWER indicatorturns on.The outgoingannouncementis distorted.You were too close to the TADor you spoke too loudly whenrecording the announcement.Re-record theannouncement,speaking in a normaltone of voice about12 inches from theTAD.There was too much back-ground noise in the roomwhen you recorded theannouncement.Re-record theannouncement.The TAD does not playthe outgoingannouncement yourecorded.The outgoing announcementis less than 2 seconds long.Record a new outgo-ing announcementthat is at least 2 sec-onds, but no morethan 1 minute long.43-768.fm Page 30 Friday, August 13, 1999 2:49 PM
