Select another channel, if de-sired.• To immediately select Chan-nel 19, press 19. Channel 19is another channel used foremergencies and traveler as-sistance.• To select any other channel,repeatedly press (or holddown) CHANNEL or .The display shows the channelnumber.3. To transmit, hold the CB 2–3inches from your mouth, holddown PUSH TO TALK, and speakdirectly into MIC (the built-inmicrophone). The TX (transmit)indicator lights.In an emergency, broadcastyour “CLIP”:Call sign — identify yourselfLocation — be exactInjuries — number of injured,type of injuries, and so onProblem — give complete de-tails. Give information calmly,clearly, and in as few words aspossibleFor example, “This is JohnSmith at Highway 80 and Ale-meda Street. There is a two-caraccident here with three injuredadults needing emergency care.Please send an ambulance.”4. When you finish transmitting, re-lease PUSH TO TALK. You nowhear other transmissions on thatchannel (such as the responseto your call). Adjust VOLUME tothe desired listening level.Note: VOLUME only affects whatyou hear.
