System RequirementsTo use a HAL System, the following items are required:l You must have access to a computer running Microsoft Windows 7 or greater. The computer must also havean Ethernet port, which you use to connect the computer to the HAL device (either directly or via an Eth-ernet network via a shielded CAT 5e cable). This connection is necessary for using the Halogen software toload configuration information into the device and also for monitoring detailed status information. Note thatsome status information is visible on the hardware itself.l You must have administrative rights to install the Halogen software, but you do not need administrativerights to run the software.l Most RADs require two, three, or four-gang standard switchboxes (for installation into a wall). A DR1requires a one-gang switchbox, while a DR2 and DR3 require two-gang switchboxes.
