en-22RANSOMES PARKWAY 2250 PLUSSAFETY AND OPERATORS MANUAL6 CONTROLS6.6 TRANSPORT LATCHESWhen transporting the machine ensure the cuttingunits are raised and the transport latches (A) areengaged.6.7 PARKING BRAKESThe parking brake (B) is engaged when the lever ismoved toward the operator. The brake is fitted with amicro switch that sensors brake position. The brakemust be applied to start the machine, and whenstopping and leaving the seat.CAUTION:- The parking brake must not be appliedwhilst the vehicle is moving.6.8 HYDRAULIC LIFT LEVERSThe cutting units can be raised and lowered bythree control levers (A) situated on the right handside of the operators seat and can be operated asfollows:Centre lever controls Rear Unit No. 1Right hand lever controls R.H. Unit No. 2Left hand lever controls L.H. Unit No. 3NOTE: If any unit is raised out of work then loweredinto work again the cylinder will not rotate until themow foot switch is depressed. To lift: Move the lever(s) upwards and hold inposition until the units are at the required height. To lower: Move the lever(s) fully downwards andrelease, the unit(s) will lower to ground level. DONOT hold lever in down position.NOTE: The units will only lift and lower when theengine is running.IMPORTANT: If, when cutting, a lift control lever isaccidently pulled up, the cutting units will not floatover ground undulations until the lever is pushedfully down and allowed to return to neutral again.6.9 WEIGHT TRANSFERCutting unit ground pressure can be varied withinpreset limits and is controlled by the handwheel (B)on the right hand side of the operator's seat locatednext to the lift/lower levers. The handwheel is turnedclockwise to reduce the groundweight of the cuttingunit, improving slope climbing ability. The handwheel is turned anti clockwise to increasethe ground weight of the unit. Increased downpressure will reduce the likelyhood of cutting unitbounce when cutting undulating ground. Whencutting level ground the normal setting is midwayway between the maximum and minimum positions.
