Ifyou fail to do so, there is a danger that thebackrest frame may jerk forward andcause injury.• Any changes to the series standard of theseat (for example fitting parts which arenot original GRAMMER parts) may impairthe safety standard to which it has beentested.• Functions may be impaired, threateningyour safety. For this reason, any changesin design of the seat must be approved byGRAMMER.During the removal and installation of the driver’sseat, the corresponding instructions bythe specific vehicle manufacturer must be strictlyobserved!• Do not hold onto the covers for lifting thedriver’s seats. If you do so anyway, thereis an increased risk of injury due toloosening or breaking covers.• Before you remove the driver’s seat,disconnect all plug-in connections betweenthe seat and the vehicle supply network.When you replace the plug-in connectors,make sure they are tight to avoid ingressof dust and water.• Seatbelts can be retrofitted to the driver’sseat. Seatbelts may only be fitted on theapproval of the vehicle manufacturer, asthey increase the load in the seat mountingarea.• Seatbelts must be fitted in accordance withspecific national regulations andguidelines, and must be approved byGRAMMER.• Retrofitted seatbelts must be fastenedbefore driving.• The seat belt must be replaced after anaccident.• Where seatbelts are fitted to the driver’sseat, the seat and seat mounting must bechecked additionally by specialistpersonnel after an accident has occurred.• Fasteners must be, checked regularlyfor tight seat. If the seat wobbles theremay be loose bolts or other faults.• If you notice that the seat does notfunction correctly (for example a defectiveseat suspension; improper curvature ofthe lumbar support or damaged bellows),contact a specialist workshop immediatelyto arrange for repairs to be carried out.• If you fail to do so, your health may beaffected and the risk of accidentincreased.• Before the vehicle is used, switches thatmight be in the seat (for shutting downmechanical equipment when the driverleaves his/her seat) must be checked forproper function• If malfunctions are detected, the vehiclemust not be driven. – INCREASED RISKOF ACCIDENT –• Loads must not be placed on seats with abuilt in switch, except for the driver’sweight during normal use, as the vehiclemay otherwise start to move by itself. –INCREASED RISK OF ACCIDENT –• If you take off the weight from the seatwhile driving, this will cause the vehicle tostop.• Do not indent the bellows while there isload on the driver’s seat. – RISK OFCRUSHING –• Make sure that the interior of drivers seatremains free of foreign particles or liquids.• The driver’s seat is not watertight and mustbe protected against splashes of water!• Any conversion or refitting work on aGRAMMER driver’s seat must beperformed exclusively in authorisedworkshops by trained or suitably qualifiedpersonnel and in adherence with theapplicable operating, maintenance andinstallation instructions and in compliancewith all relevant national regulations.• Improper installation and assembly bearthe risk of personal injury or propertydamage and the proper function of thedriver’s seat or mounted parts can nolonger be guaranteed.9 ADJUSTMENTS
