GB-14RANSOMES COMMANDER 3520SAFETY, OPERATORS & MAINTENANCE MANUAL6.8 VARIABLE CYLINDER SPEED (B )The speed of rotation of the cutting cylinders isadjustable by means of the handwheel situated onthe right hand side of the operator to the rear of thecutting unit lift levers. Rotate the hand wheelclockwise to increase cylinder speed, anticlockwiseto decrease cylinder speed.6.9 HYDRAULIC LIFT LEVERS (C,D,E)The cutting units can be raised and lowered by threecontrol levers situated on the right hand side besidethe operator and can be operated as follows:Centre lever (C) controls Centre and RH & LH frontUnits No. 1,2,3Right hand lever (D) controls R.H. Wing Unit No. 4Left hand lever (E) controls L.H. Wing Unit No. 5NOTE: If any unit is raised out of work thenlowered into work again the cylinder will notrotate until the mow foot switch is depressed. To lift: Move the lever(s) rearwards and hold inposition until the units are at the required height. To lower: Move the lever(s) fully forwards andrelease, the unit(s) will lower to ground level. DONOT hold lever in down position.NOTE: The units will only lift and lower whenthe engine is running.IMPORTANT: If, when cutting, a lift control leveris accidentally pulled up, the cutting units willnot float over ground undulations until the leveris pushed fully down and allowed to return toneutral again.6.10 UNIT COUNTERBALANCE CONTROL (F )Cutting unit ground pressure can be varied withinpreset limits and is controlled by the handwheel onthe right hand side of the operators seat. The handwheel is turned clockwise to reduce theground weight of the cutting unit and to improveslope climbing performance. The handwheel is turned anticlockwise to increaseground weight of the cutting unit and this setting willreduce the possibility of cutting unit "bounce" whenworking at high speed on undulating ground. Thenormal position for this control is midway betweenthe minimum and maximum settings.6 CONTROLS
