GB-34RANSOMES COMMANDER 3520SAFETY, OPERATORS & MAINTENANCE MANUAL8 LUBRICATION AND MAINTENANCELUBRICATION8.4 HYDRAULIC TEST PORTSIf any problems are experienced with the hydraulicsystem service ports are provided to enablepressures to be checked. These service ports are situated beside the seat onthe right hand side of the machine. All tests, unlessstated otherwise, should be carried out with thehydraulic oil at normal working temperature.TEST PORTS1. Transmission pressure forward:With the machine restrained and the enginespeed set to maximum 2850r.p.m. andtraction pedal in forward position a reading of345 bar (5003 psi) should be obtained.2. Transmission pressure reverse:With the machine restrained and the enginespeed set to maximum 2850r.p.m. andtraction pedal in reverse position a reading of230bar (3335 psi) should be obtained.3. Charge pressure:With the engine speed set to maximum2850r.p.m.and the transmission oil hot amaximum pressure of 18 - 26 bar(261 - 377 p.s.i.) should be obtained.4. Pump case pressure:With the engine speed set to maximum2850r.p.m. Maximum case pressure mustnot exceed 1.7 bar (25 p.s.i.) continuous.Maximum allowable intermittent casepressure during cold start must not exceed 5bar (75p.s.i.)5. Counterbalance pressure:With the cutting units lowered adjust thecounterbalance control to check minimumand maximum pressures. These should bebetween 13.8 and 27.6 bar (200 and 400p.s.i.) Whilst reading this figure do notoperate the steering or traction pedal.Lift pressure:With the lift levers held in the lift position andthe cutting unit fully lifted the gauge readingwill be:(a) With minimum counterbalance set 187 bar(2750 p.s.i.)(b) With maximum counterbalance set 204bar (3000 p.s.i.)NOTE: Any servicing of the hydraulic systemmust be carried out by trained servicepersonnel.
