Chapter 7: Administration Features98Software UpdateThe software update feature only permits software UPGRADE, notdowngrade.Note: To perform software downgrade, contact Raritan TechnicalSupport for help.To perform the software update, you must meet the followingrequirements: Your User Station has been installed with the User Station software,and the software runs properly.Note: If your User Station cannot run the software properly, forexample, the login screen is not shown after being powered on,contact Raritan Technical Support for software update. You have a FAT32-formatted USB flash drive. The version of the software which you will install is equal to or higherthan the software version currently installed on your User Station.See About this Device (on page 102).Important: It is strongly recommended to back up all data and settingsprior to the software update. SeeBackup and Restore (on page 93).To perform the software UPGRADE:1. Use a computer to download the User Station software file from theDominion KX III User Station section of the Raritan website'sSupport page (http://www.raritan.com/support/).2. Copy the file named "KX3UST__update.bin" to the rootdirectory of your USB flash drive. Make sure there is sufficient roomin the USB drive. in the filename refers to the software's version number.3. On the User Station, log in as a user who has the SystemAdministration privilege.4. Plug the USB drive containing the software file into any USB port onthe User Station.5. Launch the User Station Configuration window. See User StationConfiguration (on page 28).6. Click Administration > Software Update. The Software Updates pageopens, with a list of software files found in the root directory of theconnected USB drive.
