There are two methods of selecting ports usingSwitchMan:1. Use preconfigured Hot Key Commands.2. Use Manual Port Selectors - the PC andHUB push buttons on the front panel of theSwitchMan unit.SwitchMan’s default control mode is KVM andAudio only; but both port selection methodsabove allow you to control port switching in fivedifferent modes:> KVM only> USB Devices only> Audio only> KVM and Audio only> KVM and Audio and USB devicesHot Key CommandsActivate Hot Key mode by pressing the SCROLLLOCK key twice rapidly. A beep will sound, indi-cating that you have entered Hot Key mode.The Hot Keys: Z, S, C, H, A, T, L, U, and M arenot case sensitive. Pressing any keystroke except CTRL, ALT,SHIFT, and Window Key to abort from scanmode: one short beep.AutoScanSwitchMan’s AutoScan feature allows you tomonitor the activity of your connected comput-ers at regular intervals. Use AutoScan to scanthrough the computers without having to manu-ally switch the channels or use Hot key combi-nations to view each port.Activate AutoScan mode by pressing SCROLLLOCK + SCROLL LOCK + Z. Only active chan-nels will be scanned. The default scan time isthree (3) seconds.Exit AutoScan by pressing any key (exceptCTRL, ALT, SHIFT, and Window Key). No otherkeyboard or mouse control will function until youexit AutoScan mode.SCROLL LOCK + SCROLL LOCK + Z: Startsto scan automatically after 5 seconds; scan rateis the scan rate set in the last AutoScan session.SCROLL LOCK + SCROLL LOCK + Z + 1: Setsscan rate of 3 seconds for each active port.SCROLL LOCK + SCROLL LOCK + Z + 2: Setsscan rate of 6 seconds for each active port.SCROLL LOCK + SCROLL LOCK + Z + 3: Setsscan rate of 9 seconds for each active port.SCROLL LOCK + SCROLL LOCK + Z + 4: Setsscan rate of 12 seconds for each active port.Manual Port SelectorsWhen the "link" between the KVM + Audio switchand the USB devices switch is disabled, KVM +Audio, and USB devices are switched indepen-dently (SCROLL LOCK + SCROLL LOCK + T).When using the PC or HUB buttons, only activeports can be switched; inactive ports will beskipped in the switching sequence. Please referto the SwitchMan Operations Quick ReferenceTable, below, for more information.HUB Switch ButtonThe HUB button is disabled when "link" isenabled. If you press the HUB button when “link”is enabled, you will hear three short beeps.VI. Apple and SUN KeyboardEmulationYou can use a regular Windows USB keyboardto control Apple or SUN servers. To use this fea-ture, you must enter the appropriate keyboardemulation mode by pressing SCROLL LOCKtwice, and then pressing '-' (minus) and a spe-cific function key one after another within 3 sec-onds. Note that all combination keys in the emu-lation mode must be pressed in sequence within3 seconds instead of being pressed simultane-ously. For example, "CTRL + ALT + F2" meansyou first press and release CTRL, then ALT, andfinally F2.Apple Keyboard Emulation ModePress SCROLL LOCK + SCROLL LOCK + '-'(minus) + F2 to enter the emulation mode. The port to which Audio is connectedwill blink once.ON: To change the port to which Audio is con-nected, continue to hold the PC Push Button,and press the HUB Push Button.
