Do NOT use chemical or abrasive materials.When your instruments or keypads are not in use, always fit thesuncovers supplied.Wind transducerIf the windvane is removed from its mounting block for any reason (e.g.if the mast is unstepped), fit the blanking cover (supplied) to thewindvane mounting block connector.Speed & Depth transducersRefer to the Installation and Maintenance instructions supplied with therelevant transducer.CablingPeriodically examine all cables for chafing or other damage, and forsecurity of connection. Where necessary, replace and/or re-secure.1.2 TroubleshootingIf you think you have a fault, always check that the perceived problem isgenuine and not due to the way the system and/or instrument has been setup (see Section 7, System Setup).For example, if a chapter title is not being displayed on an instrument, thiscould be due to a fault, but it is more likely to be caused by one or more ofthe following:• The relevant transducer is not fitted to your boat.• Chapter titles have been turned off during User Setup.• All the pages in the relevant chapter have been turned off during UserSetup.Preliminary proceduresChanges in the electronic environment may adversely affect theoperation of your ST290 system.
