This occurs when:• you select automatic acquisition by pressing track from Auto• you request waypoint advance by pressing track for 1 second inTrack mode (with SeaTalk navigators only)• the boat arrives at the target waypoint and the navigator acceptsthe next waypoint• you activate the Man Overboard (MOB) function in Track modeWhen the alarm sounds, the pilot continues on its current heading butdisplays:• the bearing to the next waypoint• the direction the boat will turn to take up that bearingResponding to a Waypoint Advance alarmTo respond to a Waypoint Advance alarm:• check that it is safe to turn onto the new track, then press track toaccept the waypoint advance• alternatively, you can cancel the alarm without accepting thewaypoint advance by pressing: standby to return to handsteering, or auto to return to Auto mode.Note: Waypoint advance only operates if the ST4000+ is receivingvalid bearing to waypoint and waypoint number information.Shallow alarm (SHALLOW)The ST4000+ activates the Shallow alarm if it receives a shallowdepth alarm via SeaTalk:• press standby or disp to cancel the alarmMan Overboard alarm (MOB)The ST4000+ activates the Man Overboard alarm if it receives a manoverboard (MOB) message from another instrument on the SeaTalk81131_7.book Page 13 Wednesday, March 17, 2004 3:59 PM
