You can make temporary changes to responseduring normal operation, as described in Chapter 3:Operating instructions .Setting the Response level determines how quickly the pilot responds to a change inconditions.1. Press MENU, then use < and > to scroll to theResponse Level screen and press ENTER.2. Use < and > to increase or decrease the settingas required, from 1 to 9, where 1 is slow and 9 isfast. You may have to experiment to find out theappropriate response level for your vessel.3. Press ENTER to accept the new value and exit,or CANCEL to exit without making any change.Setting OptionsLevels1 to 3 Minimize the amount of pilot activity. This conserves power, but maycompromise short-term course-keeping accuracyLevels 4 to 6 Should give good course keeping with crisp, well controlled turnsunder normal operating conditionsLevels7 to 9 give the tightest course keeping and greatest rudder activity (andpower consumption).
