17.21 Transducer set-up menu optionsThe Transducer Set-up menu should be used when setting up your multifunction display for the first time or when installinga depth transducer.Menu Item Description OptionsTransducer Select the appropriate transducer type from those displayed. Some transducer may be detected by the systemautomatically.Options available are dependant on the sonarmodule connected.Speed Transducer Selecttheappropriatespeedtransducerfromthoseavailable. This option is only available if you are not using a combinedDepth/Speed or Depth/Speed/Temperature transducer.Options available are dependant on the sonarmodule connected.Depth Offset (waterline) Offset represents the depth of the transducer (relative to thewaterline).• –9.9 to +9.9 feet — or equivalent unitsSpeed Offset Offset applied to the speed log. • 0 to 100%Temperature Offset Offset applied to the temperature transducer value. • –9.9 to +9.9 °F — or equivalent unitsFishfinder Transducer CalibrationYour fishfinder transducer must be calibrated correctly to achieveaccurate depth readings. The multifunction display receives the image from a sonarmodule which processes sonar signals from a transducermounted in the water. If the transducer is equipped with a speedpaddle wheel and temperature-sensing thermistor, the sonarmodule calculates speed and temperature. To ensure accuratereadings, it may be necessary to calibrate the transducer(s)by applying offsets to depth, speed and temperature. Asthese settings are held in the sonar module and relate to thetransducer, they are applied system-wide.Depth OffsetDepths are measured from the transducer to the sea bed, butyou can apply an offset value to the depth data, so that thedisplayed depth reading represents the depth to the sea bedfrom either the keel or the water line. Before attempting to set a waterline or keel offset, find outthe vertical separation between the transducer and eitherthe waterline or the bottom of the keel on your vessel, asappropriate. Then set the appropriate depth offset value.D9343--21 2 31 Waterline offset2 Transducer / Zero offset3 Keel offsetIf an offset is not applied, displayed depth readings represent thedistance from the transducer to the sea bed.Setting the depth offsetFrom the fishfinder application:1.
