C22. 1 C.E.C. Part 1(C22. 1).The temperature of the water in the heater can be reg-ulated by using the optional temperature control. Tocomply with safety regulations, the optional tempera-ture control will be set at the lowest setting whenshipped from the factory.To adjust the water temperature, insert a small straightscrewdriver into the adjustment screw on the front oftemperature control and turn the wheel to the desiredsetting (See Fig. 6).CAUTION: Hotter water increases the risk of scald-ing! There is a hot water scald potential if thethermostat is set too high.Fig. 6: Temperature ControlEquipment BaseThe heater should be mounted on a level, structurallysound surface. The heater is approved for installationon a combustible surface but must NEVER beinstalled on carpeting. Gas-fueled equipment installedin enclosed parking garages must be located at least18 in. above the floor.CAUTION: The heater should be located in an areawhere water leakage will not result in damage to thearea adjacent to the appliance or to the structure.When such locations cannot be avoided, it isrecommended that a suitable catch pan, adequatelydrained, be installed under the appliance.
