Set the tankstat on the lowest setting.3. Turn off all electric power to the appliance.4. This appliance is equipped with an ignition devicewhich automatically lights the pilot. Do not try tolight the pilot by hand.5. Remove heater door panel.6. For Robertshaw Gas Valve: Turn gas control knobclockwise to "OFF". For Honeywell GasValve: Turn gas control knob clockwise to"OFF". Make sure knob rest against stop. ForHoneywell Gas Valve: Push in gas control knobslightly and turn clockwise to "OFF". Knob cannotbe turned to "OFF" unless knob is pushed in slight-ly. Do not force.7. Wait five (5) minutes to clear out any gas. Thensmell for gas, including near the floor. If you smellgas, STOP! Follow "b" in the safety informationpreviously stated. If you do not smell gas, go to thenext step.8. For Honeywell Gas Valve: Turn gas control knobcounter-clockwise to “ON”.For Robertshaw Gas Valve: Move gas controllever to “ON" position.9. Replace door panel.10. Turn on all electric power to the appliance.11. Set tankstat to desired setting.12. If the heater will not operate, follow the instructions“To Turn Off Gas To Appliance” and call your serv-ice technician or gas supplier.To Turn Off Gas to Heater1. Set the thermostat to the lowest setting.2. Turn off all the electric power to the appliance ifservice is to be performed.3. Remove door panel.4. For Robertshaw Gas Valve: Push in and movegas control lever to “OFF” position.For Honeywell Gas Valve: Push in gas controlknob slightly and turn clockwise to “OFF”.5.
