INTHE ABSENCE OF LOCAL CODES, USE THE CURRENT CSA22.1 CANADIAN ELECTRIC CODE IN CANADA OR THE CURRENTNATIONAL ELECTRIC CODE ANSI / NFPA NO. 70 IN THE UNITED STATES.A hard wire kit is available for this unit as an option (see hard wire kit instructions), to hard wire this appliance, a qualified electrician mustremove the cord connection, and wire the appliance directly to the household wiring.This appliance must be electrically connected and grounded in accordance with local codes, if hard wired.In the absence of local codes, use the current CSA C22.1 CANADIAN ELECTRICAL CODE in Canada or the current ANSI/NFPA 70 NATIONALELECTRICAL CODE in the United States.The 4 AA batteries do not need to be installed if using the AC adaptor. The batteries would only be required in the event that120V power is lost.Important: Electrical box must be located within 10 feet of the burner(s) as the AC adaptor is 10 feet long and will not reach theDC supply wire connection if any farther.1. Remove the valve cover plate on side of unit to expose the DC supplywire by removing 6 screwsNOTE: The valve cover plate should be removed prior to being installedinto the framing kit or framing in general for ease of access to these 6screws. This would also apply when reinstalling the valve cover plate.DC supply wire from wiring harnessValve cover plateAC adaptortooltip2. Locate the 'DC supply' wire on the wiring harness,the wire willbe clearly marked.3. Run the AC adaptor wire from the recently installed electricalbox, to the back of the unit end, connect the AC Adaptor withthe DC supply wire in the previous step.4. Attach the AC adaptor to the DC supply wire. Secure wire using astrain relief ( see enclosed picture) Reinstall the valve cover plate(reverse Step 2).5. Plug the AC adaptor into a grounded fault interrupter (GFI)protected circuit.6. Turn on gas and electrical supply and test unit.AC ADAPTOR INSTALLATION
