3ENGLISH3. SafetyThis machine is equipped with safety features. Nevertheless, read and followthe “3.1 Safety instructions” chapter carefully, and only use the machine asdescribed in these instructions to avoid accidental injury or damage due toimproper use of the machine. Keep this user manual for future reference.3.1 Safety instructions• The “Warnings” section warns against possible severe injuries, danger to lifeand/or damage to the machine.• The “Cautions” section warns against slight injuries and/or damage to themachine.It’s necessary a careful reading of the manual before performing anyoperation or maintenance.WarningsConnect the machine to a wall socket with a voltage matching the technicalspecifications of the machine.Connect the machine to an earthed wall socket.Do not let the power cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, or touchhot surfaces.Never immerse the machine, mains plug or power cord in water (danger ofelectrical shock!).Do not pour liquids on the power cord connector.Never direct the hot water jet towards body parts: danger of burns!Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles and knobs.Turn off the machine from the main switch located on the back beforeremoving the plug from the socket:- If a malfunction occurs.- If the machine will not be used for a long time.- Before cleaning the machine.Pull on the plug, not on the power cord.Do not touch the mains plug with wet hands.Do not use the machine if the mains plug, the power cord or the machineitself is damaged.Do not make any modifications to the machine or its power cord.Only have repairs carried out by a service centre authorized by Philips toavoid a hazard.The machine should not be used by children younger than 8 years old.
