Hard wood types such asoak, birch, beech or wood fruit trees are preferred. You may also burn wood briquettes. It’s also important to usethe correct length and an appropriate amount of firewood.Damp wood results in incomplete combustion, making it pollutant. It’s also difficult to light, extinguishes easily and giveoff significantly less heat compared to dry wood. Finally, soot can be deposited on the glass, in the appliance or thechimney.Safe and natural firingIt’s strongly recommended to start the fire with biomass firelighters or chopped wood, not with newspaper. Liquidfuels are prohibited!Use only environmentally friendly fuelsUnder no circumstances burn impregnated wood, plywood, pallet wood, chipboard, waste or newspaper in yourstove. This is quite rightly prohibited by the environmental legislation. During the combustion of these fuels highconcentrations of harmful substances are released.The combustion of above-mentioned fuels is also harmful for the stove and chimney. The temperature in the appliancecan rise too high with the risk of a chimney fire.First useDuring first use the paint of the appliance will dry. Therefore burn the first hour a small amount of fuel (1-2 kg) andleave the combustion air fully open. The smoke that emits during this phase isn’t toxic but it’s recommended toventilate the room.
