We recommend carrying out smaller maintenance work such as removing ashes and cleaning the glass atmore regular intervals. Note that the stove may only be cleaned when it is cooled down.Removing ashesDepending on the frequency of use, the ashtray should be emptiedregularly in order to avoid the ash from reaching the wood grill.When it does reach the wood grill, the grill cannot cool down and thecast iron parts will start melting.Fill the ash tray with the help of the shaking grid lever. From to timeresidual ashes should be removed from the coal or wood grill usingthe poker. Simply hook the pin of the operating tool into the frontplate of the ash pan and carefully pull it out of the appliance to emptyit.Removing the gridAfter regular use (depending on the amount of ashes) the burning chamber, the grid and the space of the ashtray mustbe cleaned thoroughly. It’s recommended to use a vacuum cleaner for this. Make sure the stove is cooled down first.Remove the standing grate from its supports and the wood grate from the frame. Also remove the ash tray from theappliance.Cleaning the flueFlue dust and ashes must be removed from the smoke discharge duct(between the cleaning hatch and the back plate) every year. Thesmoke discharge duct can be accessed by removing the cleaninghatch. This makes it easy to remove the ashes from the dischargeduct as well as the connector. The cleaning hatch must remountedcorrectly afterwards.Cleaning painted surfacesDust the remaining ashes from the painted parts using a soft hand brush or cotton cloth. Neverwash the appliance with water! This can cause rust.Cleaning the cooking plateThe polished cooking plate will glow wand turn blue during use. This is a normal phenomenon. The polished cookingplate can be cleaned using steel wool and the optional cleaning product.Avoid spilling water on a hot cooking plate as this may burst the plate!
