13Refrigerant pipe installationRefrigerant pipe workf The length of refrigerant pipe should be as short as possible and the height difference between an indoor unit andoutdoor unit should be minimized.f The piping length between the outdoor unit and the indoor unit may not exceed the allowable piping length, heightdifference, and the allowable length after branching is done.f The pressure of the R-410A is high. Use only certified refrigerant pipe and follow the installation method.f After pipe installation, charge the refrigerant according to the length of the pipe and R-410A refrigerant should be used.f Use clean refrigerant pipe and there shouldn’t be any harmful ion, oxide, dust, iron content or moisture inside pipe.f Use tools and accessories that fit on R-410A only.t When installing, make sure there is no leakage. When collecting the refrigerant, stop the compressor first beforeremoving the connection pipe. If the refrigerant pipe is not properly connected and the compressor workswith the service valve open, the pipe inhales the air and it makes the pressure inside of the refrigerant cycleabnormally high. It may cause explosion and injury.WARNINGTool Work If compatible with conventional toolPipe cutterRefrigerant pipe workPipe cutting CompatibleFlaring tool Pipe flaringRefrigerant oil Apply refrigerant oil onflared partExclusive ether oil, ester oil, alkali benzene oil orsynthetic oilTorque wrench Connect flare nut with pipeCompatiblePipe bender Pipe bendingNitrogen gas Air tightening test Inhibition of oxidizationBrazing tool Pipe brazingManifold gauge Air tightening test ~additional refrigerantchargingVacuuming, charging andchecking operationNeed exclusive one to prevent mixture of R-22refrigerant oil use and also the measurement isnot available due to the high pressure.Refrigerant charginghoseNeed exclusive one due to the refrigerantleakage or inflow of impurities.Vacuum pump Vacuum dryingCompatible (Use products which contain the check valve to prevent the oilfrom flowing backward into the outdoor unit.)Use the one that can be vacuumed up to 100.7 kpa(5Torr.-755 mmHg).Scale for refrigerantcharging CompatibleGas leak detector Gas leak test Need exclusive one( The one for R-134a can be used)Flare nut You must use the flare nut equipped with product.Refrigerant leakage may occur when the conventional flare nut for R-22 is used.
