107Entering text, numbers, or symbolsWhen you are prompted to enter text, the current text entrymethod will appear on the bottom-right corner as T9 word,Abc(alpha), or 123(numbers). To toggle between Input Modes,Abc,Symbols,123, or T9 word,press the soft key.Alphabetical Text EntryText characters may be entered in Abc(alpha) Input Mode bypressing the key corresponding to the letter that you want toenter. Press the same key repeatedly to change between thecharacters represented by each key. Entry order of the uppercase and lower case letters can be selected using softkey to toggle between ‘Abc’,‘ABC’, or ‘abc’modes.Numbers and Symbol EntryNumbers and symbols are entered by changing to the appro-priate Input Mode and pressing the soft key for the symbolyou want, or the digit key of the number you want. A total of27 types of symbols are available for input. Symbols can alsobe entered by repeatedly pressing to toggle among allsymbols.T9® Text InputT9 Text Input enables you to easily enter text.T9 (for “text on9 keys”) requires only one key press per letter, and quicklyrecognizes the most commonly used word of a numericsequence. If two or more wordsshare the same numeric sequence,T9 software provides themost commonly used word, with the ability to scroll to thenext most commonly used word by pressing the .
