SOLVING PROBLEMS7.32Troubleshooting PS ErrorsThe following situations are PS language specific and may occurwhen several printer languages are being used.NOTE: To receive a printed or screen displayed message when PSerrors occur, open the Print Options window and click the desiredselection next to the PostScript errors section.Problem Possible Cause SolutionPostScript file can notbe printed.The PostScript drivermay not be installedcorrectly.Or a problem hasoccurred in thePostScript DIMM.• Reinstall the PS driver, referring topage B.2.• Print a configuration page and verifythat the PS version is available forprinting.• If the problem persists, contact aservice representative.“This job containsbinary data...”message appears.The pure binary dataoption is notsupported by thePostScript driver.Open the Properties of the PostScriptdriver, click on PostScript, and click onAdvanced. The pure binary data optionis not supported. Choose another.A PS error page prints. Print job may not bePS.Make sure that the print job is a PS job.Check to see whether the softwareapplication expected a setup or PSheader file to be sent to the printer.The optional Tray2 isnot selected in thedriver.The printer driver hasnot been configuredto recognize theoptional Tray2.Open the PostScript driver propertiesand set the Option Tray item of theDevice option to Installed.In Windows NT 4.0/2000/XP, when youselect Black & Whitein the Color option ofthe paper/qualityproperties, thedocument prints incolor instead of in theblack and white.In some programs,such as AcrobatReader, AdobePhotoshop, andCorelDraw, the Coloroption may not beavailable.Open the PS driver properties and clickthe Advanced tab. Set the ColorMode under the Printer Featuresoption to Gray.When print a documentin Macintosh withAcrobat Reader 6.0 orhigher, colors printincorrectly.The resolution settingin the printer drivermay not be matchedwith that in AcrobatReader.Make sure that the resolution setting inyour printer driver matches that inAcrobat Reader.
