Alignment & TroubleshootingService Manual 4-63 Samsung ElectronicsI have CUPS and someoptions (such as N-up) seem to be alwaysenabled even though I don'tchoose them in LLPR.There may be some local options defined in your ~/ .lpoptions file, which are manipulated by the lpoptionscommand. These options are always used if notoverridden by LLPR settings. To get rid of all optionsfor a printer, run the following command, replacing"printer" with the name of the queue:lpoptions -x printerI configured a printer toprint to a file, but I get "Permissiondenied" errors. Most printing systems will not run as the super-userbut as a special user (usually "lp"). Therefore, makesure that the file you have chosen to print to isaccessible to the user owning the spooler daemon. On my PCL (or GDI)printer, I sometimes get error messagesprinting instead of mydocument.Unfortunately, some Unix applications may generatenon-compliant PostScript output that may not besupported by Ghostscript, or even the printer itself inPostScript mode. You can try to capture the output toa file and view the results with Ghostscript (gv orghostview will allow you to do so interactively) andsee if you get error messages. However, since theapplication is probably at fault, contact your softwarevendor to inform them of the issue. Some color images come out all black. This is a known bug in Ghostscript (until GNUGhostscript version 7.05) when the base color spaceof the document is indexed color space and it isconverted through CIE color space. BecausePostscript uses CIE color space for Color MatchingSystem, you should upgrade Ghostscript on yoursystem to at least GNU Ghostscript version 7.06 orlater. You can find recent Ghostscript versions atwww.ghostscript.com.Continue..
