Disassembly and ReassemblyService Manual 3-4 Samsung Electronics3.3 Information Related to Disassembly and Assembly.3.3.1 Special service partsNever disassemble or adjust the items mentioned, a stock of these items should be maintained.1) Disassembly of the LSU unitThere are no serviceable parts inside the LSU.Alignment of the mirrors is critical.Opening the LSU will allow dust into the laserand signicantly reduce print quality.It is very dangerous to operate or service amachine with the LSU open or system interlocksdisabled. Exposure to laser radiation can causeblindness.2) Disassembly of the ITB unitDo not disassemble the ITB. The alignment ofthe home sensor is critical and is set up in thefactory on a special jig.Incorrect re-assembly will cause print qualitydegradation.3) Care of the Toner cartridgeToner cartridges contain an extremely nepowder. Please keep toner cartridges away fromchildren. The toner powder contained in thetoner cartridge may be harmful and if swallowedyou should contact a doctor. Take care not tospill toner - spillages should be cleaned witha vacume cleaner and washed in cold water(hot water sets the toner). Do not touch thedeveloper roller surface as contamination willreduce print quality. Take care not to damagethe roller’s surface when installing or removinga toner cartridge.4) Disassembly of DEVE drive ass’y andthe main drive ass’yThe alignment of the drive mechanism is criticaland it has been set up in factory using a jigand a driving gear. It is adjusted for the bestgearing alignment. If the motor is disassembledalignment would not be maintained andthis could cause operational noise andimage problems: image alignment and tonerdistribution may be affected.5) Disassembly of terminal partsDo not adjust the variable resistors on the PBA.They have been already adjusted in the factory.6) Disassembly of the fuser unit- The fuser melts toner onto the paper at ahigh temperature: therefore, you need to takespecial care not to get burned by a hot fuser.When removing the fuser from a set that hasrecently been operating you need to take extracare.- Do not touch an AC line (Copper contact) on amain frame even after removing the fuser.
