Therefore either a digital-to-analogconverter (in the DVD player) or an analog-to-digitalconverter (in the TV) is required. During this conver-sion, the picture quality is degraded due to noise andsignal loss. DVI technology is superior because itrequires no D/A conversion and is a pure digital sig-nal from the player to your TV.• What is the HDCP?HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) isa system for protecting DVD content outputted viaDVI from being copied.
