This sectionalso includes the features and functionality associated withmaking or answering a call.Making a Call — NumberEntry Dialing1. In Standby mode, press theDialer soft key. The touchkeypad screen appears in thedisplay.2. Enter the number you wish tocall using the touch keypad.3. Press or the Voice Callsoft key to place the call.Dialing Emergency NumbersWhen you call an EmergencyNumber, such as 911, your phonelocks itself in emergency mode, only allowing you to make callsto the emergency call center you originally contacted. Thisenables emergency operators to more easily dispatch aid, suchas police, fire fighting, and emergency medical personnel.1. In Standby mode, press the Dialer soft key. The touchkeypad screen appears in the display.2. Enter 911 using the touch keypad.3. Press or the Voice Call soft key to place the call.Important!: Emergency number 911 is preset into your phone. You can dialthis number almost any time, even when the phone is locked orrestricted.If you call 911 an audible tone is heard and an Emergencyprompt appears in the display for the duration of the call.Important!: Because of various transmission methods, network parameters,and user settings necessary to complete a call from yourwireless phone, a connection cannot always be guaranteed.Therefore, emergency calling may not be available on allwireless networks at all times.Important!: DO NOT depend on this phone as a primary method of calling911 or for any other essential or emergency communications.Note: You can specify other numbers than 911 as emergency numbers usingthe Emergency # settings.
