82 Sounds and NotificationsSettingsSounds and NotificationsConfigure the sounds andvibrations used to indicatenotifications, screen touches,and other activities.Adjust the VolumeSet the system volume level, and set default volumefor call ringtones, notifications, and other media.Tip: You can also set System volume from the homescreen by pressing the Volume key.1. From a Home screen, tap Apps >Settings.2. Tap Sounds and notifications, and then dragthe sliders to set the default volume for:• Ringtone• Media• Notifications• SystemSet the Vibration IntensitySet the amount of vibration for incoming calls,notifications, and haptic feedback.1. From a Home screen, tap Apps >Settings.2. Tap Sounds and notifications > Vibrationintensity.3. Drag the sliders to set the various vibrationintensities.Vibrate When RingingYour device can vibrate in addition to ringing whenyou receive a call.1. From a Home screen, tap Apps >Settings.2. Tap Sounds and notifications > Vibrate whenringing to turn the feature on.Change the Sound ModeYou can switch between sound modes, whilepreserving the individual sound settings you havemade.Tip: Sound modes are also available from the Deviceoptions menu. Tap Sounds and notifications > Interruptions >Sound mode, and then choose a mode:• Sound: Your device uses the sounds,vibrations, and volume levels you have chosenin Sound settings for notifications and alerts.• Vibrate: Your device vibrates for notificationsand alerts. This uses the Vibration intensityyou choose in Sound settings.• Mute: Your device plays no sounds orvibrations. Onscreen reminders will still occur.
