61 Mobile HotSpot and TetheringSettingsMobile HotSpot and TetheringUse Mobile HotSpot to shareyour device’s Internet connectionwith other devices using yourdevice as a portable Wi‑Fihotspot.Share your device’s Internetconnection with a computer thatconnects to your device using aUSB cable or via Bluetooth.Mobile HotSpotNote: You must have a tethering plan on your serviceaccount in order to use the Mobile HotSpot.Warning: Mobile HotSpot consumes battery powerand uses data service.Turn Mobile HotSpot On or OffActivate your device’s Mobile HotSpot applicationto allow other devices to use your device’s Internetconnection.1. From a Home screen, tap Apps >Settings > Mobile HotSpot and Tethering.2. Tap Mobile HotSpot.3. Tap ON/OFF to turn the feature on or off.Warning: By default, your device’s MobileHotSpot has no security applied, and anydevice can connect. For more information, seeConfigure Mobile Hotspot Settings.Connect a Device to YourMobile HotspotUse the other device’s Wi‑Fi control to connect toyour device’s Mobile HotSpot.1. From a Home screen, tap Apps >Settings > Mobile HotSpot and Tethering.2. Tap Mobile HotSpot, and tap ON/OFF to enable.3. Activate Wi‑Fi on the target device.4. Scan for Wi‑Fi hotspots and select the targetdevice from the list.5. On the target device, enter your device’s MobileHotSpot password.Allowed Device ListControl whether devices connect to your MobileHotSpot with the Allowed device list. After you adddevices to the list, they can scan for your device andconnect using your device’s Mobile HotSpot nameand password.Note: Using your device as a Mobile HotSpotconsumes battery power and uses data service. WhileMobile HotSpot is active, your device’s applicationswill use the Mobile HotSpot data service. Roamingwhile using your device as a Mobile HotSpot will incurextra data charges.1. From a Home screen, tap Apps >Settings > Mobile HotSpot and Tethering.2. Tap Mobile HotSpot, and tap ON/OFF to enable.3. Tap MORE > Allowed devices, and then tapADD to enter the other device’s Device nameand MAC address.4. Tap OK to add the device. |
