Messaging 81View and Accept an Invitation to Become a FriendWhen a contact invites you to become a friend in Google Talk,you receive a notification in the System bar and theinvitation appears in your Friends list.1. Tap the invitation.2. Tap Accept, if you want to accept the invitation and chat,Decline, if you do not want to chat with and share yourGoogle Talk status with the sender right now, or Block, ifyou do not want to receive any more invitations from thatperson.If you tap Accept, the friend is added to your Friends list inTalk and you can share your status in Talk and otherapplications.Options While ChattingThere are several options that are available while you arechatting. Tap (Chat Menu) to the right of the chat window. Thefollowing options display:• Go off the record/Stop chatting off the record: Set whether youwant to stop saving your chat to the chat history.• Friend info: Display information about the friend with which you arechatting.– View in Contacts: View the friend’s Contact information.– Nickname: Create a nickname for the friend.– Show in Friends list: Set how to show this friend in you Friends list.Options are: Always, Never, or Automatically. Automatically determineswhether your friend is popular with you.• Block friend: Block a friend from sending you messages andremove the friend from your Friends list.• Remove friend: Remove the friend as if you never accepted theirinvitation. However, the friend is not blocked.Note: If you touch the Remove friend option, tap Add friend ➔ Send chatinvitation to, to make the Friend visible again.• Add to chat: Select another friend to join in the current chat.• Clear chat history: Remove the history of this chat from yourdevice.Additional Talk Options1. While viewing your Friends list, tap to search yourTalk messages. Use the on-screen keypad to enter asearch term. Tap on the keypad to search your Talkmessages.2. Tap (Menu) to display the following options:• All friends / Most popular: List all friends or the most popularfriends.
