Connections 67Portable Wi-Fi HotspotUse Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot to share your device’s 3G internetconnection with a PC or other device through Wi-Fi, using yourdevice as a mobile wireless hotspot.Note: Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot consumes battery power and uses data service.To use Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot , you need the Portable Wi-Fi Hotspotfeature from your wireless provider. There is a monthly charge for thePortable Wi-Fi Hotspot feature, and all data used by connecteddevices will apply to the customer’s data allowance. Contact yourwireless provider for more information.Configuring Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot SettingsConfigure your device’s Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot settings,including your device’s name and password, and set the visibilityof your device’s portable Wi-Fi hotspot.For more information, see “Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot” on page 67.Launching Portable Wi-Fi HotspotActivate your device’s Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot application to allowother devices to use your device’s 3G internet connection.1. From a Home screen, select Applications ➔Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot .2. Touch Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot to launch Portable Wi-FiHotspot. Read the information about Portable Wi-FiHotspot, then touch Continue to proceed.3. Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot consumes battery power. Read theinformation about battery usage, then touch Turn onPortable Wi-Fi Hotspot to proceed.4. Your device establishes a connection to the network for thePortable Wi-Fi Hotspot.5. Activate Wi-Fi on your PC or other device, then follow theprompts on your device to connect.Tip: Your device’s default password is your device number.
