44 Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi DirectSettingsWi-Fi is a term used for certaintypes of Wireless Local AreaNetworks (WLAN). Wi-Ficommunication requires accessto a Wireless Access Point(WAP).Wi-Fi Direct creates a directconnection between two ormore devices using Wi-Fi.Turning Wi-Fi On or OffTurning Wi-Fi on makes your device able to discoverand connect to compatible in-range WAPs.1. From the Home screen, tap Apps >Settings > Connections tab.2. Tap Wi-Fi, and then tap the ON/OFF switchbeside Wi-Fi to turn Wi-Fi on or off.Scanning and Connect to aWi-Fi Network1. From the Home screen, tap Apps >Settings > Connections tab.2. Tap Wi-Fi, and then tap the network you want toconnect to.- When you select an open network, you areautomatically connected to the network.- Enter a wireless password if necessary.Manually Connect to aWi-Fi Network1. From the Home screen, tap Apps >Settings > Connections tab.2. Tap Wi-Fi > Add Wi-Fi network.3. Enter information about the Wi-Fi network:- Tap Network SSID to enter the name of theWi-Fi network.- Tap the Security field and select a securityoption.
