36Answering a CallYour phone notifies you of a call in the following ways:• A ring tone sounds and/or your phone vibrates (Your phone provideseight ring volume settings, and/or different ring types to distinguishcallers.)• A phone number (unless blocked by the caller) and a name appear inthe display (If the caller’s number and name are stored in yourContacts list).• If the caller can’t be identified, Call from unavailable #, Call fromrestricted number, or no number appears in the display.• Your phone continues to notify you of the call until one of the followingevents occurs:– You answer the call.– You ignore the call.– The calling party ends the call.– The call is sent to voicemail.Answering an Incoming Call Touch and drag to the right. The ring tone and/orvibration stop and the caller’s voice can be heard in theearpiece.Tip: You can set your phone to answer calls automatically. (For moreinformation, refer to “Call Settings” on page 84.)Ignoring a CallWhen you ignore an incoming call, the call is immediatelyforwarded to your voice mail.Adjusting the Call Volume In Standby mode, repeatedly press the Volume key Downuntil the Call Volume Level desired appears in the display.The Volume key is on the left side of phone.Call WaitingWhen you sign up for Call Waiting service, you phone notifies youof incoming calls during a call. You have the option of answeringor ignoring an additional incoming call.1. During a call, your phonenotifies you of an incomingcall and the Call Waitingscreen appears in yourdisplay.2. Answer the incoming call. Youroriginal call is placed on hold,as shown here.3. To return to your original call,press ➔ Swap calls.4. To alternate between calls,press ➔ Swap calls.
