Messaging 57Accessing EmailYou can configure i100 Messaging to send and receive Emailmessages using personal or business accounts.Setting Up an Email AccountYou can use your i100 to access the Internet for Email using aconnection through your Wireless Carrier or using a Wi-Ficonnection. (For more information, refer to “Wi-Fi” on page 76.)Tip: Before beginning the Email account setup process, you should havecopies of the email server settings from the Email provider(s) for each ofyour accounts to verify and/or correct all automatically retrievedsettings.1. Press ➔ Email. The first time you select Email, theSet up email screen appears in the display, prompting youto configure Email for an account.2. Enter your E-mail address and password into theappropriate fields, then touch Next. Your phoneautomatically obtains account information from the Emailserver.• If this account is to access a private Email server (such as youremployer’s), touch Manual setup and follow the prompts to set upaccess to your Email account.You are notified when setup is complete.3. At the prompt, enter a screen name for this Email accountand your name for inclusion in outgoing messages, thentouch Next. Email begins downloading to your phone.Manually Setting Up an Email AccountIf your i100 is unable to automatically contact and setup toaccess your Email account, use the following procedure.Tip: Before beginning the Email account setup process, you should havecopies of the email server settings from the Email provider(s) for each ofyour accounts to verify and/or correct all automatically retrievedsettings.1. Available optionsare:• POP3 account• IMAP account• Exchange account3. Select the account type. The appropriate server settingsscreen appears in the display.4. Enter the server settings information from your Emailprovider, then touch Next. Your phone contacts your EmailProvider’s server. You are notified when setup is complete.
