English 3903 SetupStart the application on your portable device.The application should find your product anddisplay it on a list.Select the product.If this is the first time you are using thefunction, it will ask you to allow or denyremote control of the product. Select Allow.Follow the instructions that came with theapplication to control the product.SupportSoftware UpgradeThe Software Upgrade menu allows you toupgrade the product’s software for performanceimprovements or additional services. You canupgrade in four ways:By InternetBy USBBy DiscBy Downloaded (File)The four methods are explained below.By InternetTo upgrade by Internet, follow these steps:Select By Internet, and then press theENTER button. The Connecting to Servermessage appears.If there is a download available, theDownload pop-up appears with a progressbar and the download starts.When the download is complete, theUpgrade Query window appears with threechoices: Upgrade Now, Upgrade Later, orDon’t Upgrade.If you select Upgrade Now, the productupgrades the software, turns off, and thenturns on automatically.If you do not make a selection in one minuteor select Upgrade Later, the product storesthe new upgrade software. You can upgradethe software later using the By Downloadedfunction.If you select Don’t Upgrade, the productcancels the upgrade.4.5.6.7.••••1.2.3.4.5.6.NOTEYour product must be connected to theInternet to use the By Internet function.The upgrade is complete when the productturns off, and then turns on again by itself.Never turn the product off or back onmanually during the update process.Samsung Electronics shall take no legalresponsibility for product malfunctioncaused by an unstable Internet connectionor consumer negligence during a softwareupgrade.If you want to cancel the upgrade while theupgrade software is downloading, press theENTER button.By USBTo upgrade by USB, follow these steps:Visit www.samsung.com/bluraysupportDownload the latest USB software upgradezip archive to your computer.Unzip the zip archive to your computer. Youshould have a single folder with the samename as the zip file.Copy the folder to a USB flash drive.Make sure the disc tray is empty, and theninsert the USB flash drive into the USB portof the product.In the product’s menu, go to Settings >Support > Software Upgrade.Select By USB.NOTEThe disc tray must be empty when youupgrade the software using the USB Hostjack.When the software upgrade is done, checkthe software details in the software Upgrademenu.Do not turn off the product during thesoftware upgrade.
