1. PrecautionsFollow these safety, ESD, and servicing precautions to prevent personal injury and equipment damage.1-1 Safety Precautions1. Be sure that all built-in protective devices are inplace. Restore any missing protective shields.2. Make sure there are no cabinet openings throughwhich people- particularly children- might insertfingers or objects and contact dangerous voltages.3. When re-installing chassis and assemblies, besure to restore all protective devices, includingcontrol knobs and compartment covers.4. Design Alteration Warning:Never alter or add to the mechanical or electricaldesign of this equipment, such as auxiliaryconnectors, etc. Such alterations andmodifications will void the manufacturer’swarranty.5. Components, parts, and wiring that appear tohave overheated or are otherwise damagedshould be replaced with parts which meet theoriginal specifications. Always determine thecause of damage or overheating, and correct anypotential hazards.6. Observe the original lead dress, especially nearsharp edges, AC, and high voltage powersupplies. Always inspect for pinched, out-of-place, or frayed wiring. Do not change thespacing between components and the printedcircuit board.7. Product Safety Notice:Some electrical and mechanical parts have specialsafety-related characteristics which might not beobvious from visual inspection. These safetyfeatures and the protection they provide could belost if a replacement component differs from theoriginal. This holds true, even though thereplacement may be rated for higher voltage,wattage, etc.Components critical for safety are indicated inthe parts list with symbols . Use onlyreplacement components that have the sameratings, especially for flame resistance anddielectric specifications.
