In the event ofan electrical short circuit, grounding reduces therisk of electric shock by providing an escape wirefor the electrical current. This appliance isequipped with a cord that includes a groundingwire and a grounding plug. The plug must beplugged into an outlet that is properly installed andgrounded. Plug the three-prong power cord into aproperly grounded outlet of standard 115-120 volt-age, 60 Hz. Your oven should be the only applianceon this circuit.WARNINGImproper use of the grounding plug can resultin a risk of electric shock. Consult a qualifiedelectrician or servicer if you do not understandthe grounding instructions or if you are notsure if the appliance is properly grounded.Use of Extension CordsA short power-supply cord is provided to reducethe risk of becoming entangled in or tripping overa longer cord. Longer cord sets or extension cordsare available and may be used if care is exercisedin their use. If a long cord or extension cord isused:1. The marked electrical rating of the cord set orextension cord should be at least as great asthe electrical rating of the appliance.2. The extension cord must be a grounding-type 3-wire cord and it must be plugged into a 3-slotoutlet.3. The longer cord should be arranged so that itwill not drape over the counter top or tabletopwhere it can be pulled on by children or trippedover accidentally.
