23Voice CommandsThe voice recognition capabilities of your R630 are exceptionaldue to advanced, speaker-independent technology. This meansyou do not need to “train” your phone to understand your voice.You can use your voice in a natural manner to dial numbers.Note: End Calls Before relaunching the Voice Service voice recognitionsoftware — When you use Voice Commands to make a call, you mustend that call before you can use other Voice Commands. (For moreinformation, refer to “Voice Service” on page 78.)Use the Call command to dial any number stored in yourContacts list by saying the name of the contact (Name Dialing).You can also use Call to dial any telephone number, evennumbers not stored in your contact list, by speaking theindividual digits in the number (Digit Dialing).Voice Dialing Tips:• Wait for the beep before speaking.• Speak clearly at a normal volume, as if you were talking to someoneon the phone.• When saying a name, say the first name then the last name.Dialing a NameTo dial a name, do the following:1. In Standby mode, tap Menu ➔ Menu 2 ➔ VoiceCommands.Tip: You can select Voice Commands as one of your Shortcuts. (For moreinformation, refer to “Shortcut Screen” on page 14.)“Please say a command” is pronounced through thespeaker.2. Say, “Call”.You are prompted to “Say the name or number of theperson you would like to call, or say voicemail or lastnumber”.3. Speak clearly and say the name of a person in yourContacts list, first name followed by last name.If the name is recognized, Voice Commands repeats thename and dials the number.If Voice Commands is not sure which name you said, itdisplays a choice list of up to three names and promptsyou with “Did you say?” followed by the first name on thelist.4. Say “Yes” to confirm the name or “No” to hear the nextname, or use the keypad to select the correct name fromthe list. (For more information, refer to “Voice Service” onpage 78.)• Press to exit Voice Service without dialing.
