English - 3302 OPERATINGCHANGING THE WATER FILTERWARNINGTo reduce risk of water damage to your propertyDO NOT use generic brands of water filters in yourSAMSUNG Refrigerator.USE ONLY SAMSUNG BRAND WATER FILTERS.SAMSUNG is not legally responsible for anydamage, including, but not limited to, propertydamage caused by water leakage from the use ofa generic water filter.SAMSUNG Refrigerators are designed to workONLY WITH SAMSUNG Water Filter.The “Filter Indicator” red LED light lets you knowwhen it is time to change your water filter cartridge.To give you preparation time to get a new filter, thered light will come on just before the capacity ofthe current filter runs out.Changing the filter on time provides you with thefreshest, cleanest water from your fridge.To make changing the water filter easier,you may want to shut off the water supply,and then drain any water remaining in thewater line by pressing a glass against thewater dispenser pad.1. Remove the new water filter from its box andput a month indicator sticker on the filter asshown.Place a sticker on the filter with a date sixmonths in the future.For example, if you are replacing the water filterin March, put the “SEP” (September) sticker onthe filter to remind you to replace in September.Normal filter life is about 6 months.2. Remove the old filter from the filter housing, andthen remove the new filter’s protective cap.3. Position the new filter, and then inset it into thefilter housing.Slowly turn the water filter clockwise to align theindicator mark on the filter with lock indicatoron the filter housing.Make sure to align the water filter labelmark with the center of the lock indicator asillustrated above, right.Do not over-tighten.Sticker(month indicator)3Cover filterAlign the indicatormark on the filterwith the lockindicator on thefilter housing.Remove thered cap1 24. Once you have completed this process,hold the “Energy Saver” simultaneously for3 seconds to reset the filter indicator.5. Turn on the water supply if you turned it off.6. Flush 3 gallons of water through filterbefore drinking or using the water from therefrigerator.This should take about 6 minutes.To flush, press the Water button, and thenpress a large glass or cup against the waterdispenser lever.Fill the glass, empty it into the kitchen sink afterit is filled, and then repeat.Make sure that water flows clearly again beforedrinking.A newly installed water filter cartridge maycause water to briefly spurt from the waterdispenser.This is caused by air getting into the line.It should pose no problem to operation.Ordering replacement filtersTo order more water filter cartridges, contact yourauthorized Samsung dealer.
