SAMSUNG will not be legallyresponsible for any damage, including, butnot limited to property damage caused bywater leakage from use of a generic waterfi lter.SAMSUNG Refrigerators are designed towork ONLY WITH SAMSUNG Water Filter.The “Filter Indicator” light lets you know when it istime to change your water fi lter cartridge.When the fi lter indicator light changes to red, it is timeto change the fi lter.To give you some time to get a new fi lter, the light willcome on up just before the capacity of the currentfi lter runs out.Changing the fi lter on time provides you with thefreshest, cleanest water from your fridge.1. Remove the water fi lter from the box andput a month indicator sticker on the fi lter asshown.2. Place a sticker on the fi lter that dates sixmonths in the future. For example, if youare replacing the water fi lter in March, putthe “SEP” (September) sticker on the fi lterto remind you to replace in September.Normally fi lter life is about every 6 months.3. Next, remove the fi xed cap by turning itcounter clockwise.4. Remove the new fi lter’s protective cap andremove the old fi lter.5. Position and insert the new fi lter into the fi lterhousing.Slowly turn the water fi lter clockwise 90º toalign with the indication mark on the cover,locking the fi lter in position. Make surethat the indicator is lined up with the “lock”position. Do not over tighten.6. Once you have completed this process, hold theIce Type button for 3 seconds to reset the fi lterschedule.7. Lastly, Dispense 1L of water through waterdispenser and throw away. Make sure that waterfl ows clearly again before drinking.A newly installed water fi lter cartridge maycause water to briefl y spurt from the waterdispenser.
